Nice for some hours but too touristic and "empty"

My new camping was located some 2kms east of Luz and 5 kms west of Lagos, so they both were a nice goal to visit. But the trip to and from Luz through the valley or along the clifs was the best !

Unfortunately the road to Luz was reconstructed. I cycled it two times but it felt my OnTheRoad 4.0 supertouring bicycle 🖱️ would collapse almost by the meter. Despite a very carefull "speed" of maybe 5kmh max. The mud, sharp stones and wobbles were terrible to handle and I decided to not torture the bicycle and myself anymore.

So I often walked to Luz along an offroad path which was more nice anyway, as usual. However it often simply was to wet offroad since that area is actually the local valley. So I then still had to walk the official road. And whatever I tried the mud was at my trousers up to some 20cms high everytime.

I also made a nice walk uphill to the cliffs. However most of the scenery is actually terrible. A planet-destroying golfcourse, abandoned houses of those who gave up and dull and dried-out land. But the views along the coast are nice.

And the beach is nice, as usual. Unfortunately I always get bored there after some 15 minutes max.

The best1 of a beach is always next to it. It could be a terrass. Or some sealife, waiting for the next high tide.

Luckily the limestone rocks at the beach show live as it was 100 million years ago.

And the best2 are often the clouds above the ocean. Sunny weather is nice but non-sunny weather is far more interesting.

In the village are some (few) nice (more or less original) things to see, but really not many. The nice aspects are compensated for by some british cafes that announce all the footballgames you can watch there. At 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 and 22 hours. And I saw a construction-company-statement saying something "Coming down even before it went up". Anyone ??? I also had the most bad prato do dia (menu of the day) ever which was actually just a supermercado-combi of freezer ingredients. Eating there can have been my own mistake. Then the board outside showed some 10 plates but menus of the day or always two max. Only then can a plate be fresh at a smaller cafe (since it only then can be profitable).

The church in Luz, I like it since it is shining somehow.

I had nice sandwiches at a traditional cafe. However also here it became more and more common that several customers always were hanging at the counter for i.e. 20 minutes. Without mouthcap, and despite the floorsign to not stay in that area. They were never warned to get seated somewhere at a safe distance nor to use a mouthcap. They just kept on spraying their aerosols over all cups, glases and food that was there. One of them even was so clever to put on his mouthcap when he went on to the street again. Pffuuuhhhh ...

When I asked the cafeboss about that he stated "this is not an easy situation then if I reply on this I will only have 5 customers instead of 20". Only 2 days later the next lockdown started.

I just managed to have my end-of-the-year diner, Chinese ofcourse and once more so tastfull ! Sweet-and-sour soup and then roasted duck with onions, ginger and vegetables. Yammie 1 ! And the next best thing is that I always can eat just half a portion so I takeaway the remains to serve as next days lunch. Yammie 2 !
